PURPOSE:To enable phosphor corresponding to each cathode electrode to be surely excited luminously with no crosstalk and accordingly to enable analogue graph to be displayed through phosphor luminance with excellent resolution by providing the second electrodes to be set commonly and opposedly to numbers of the first electrodes on the inside of a face plate. CONSTITUTION:Auxilliary electrodes 18a, 18b... are dividedly formed against respective cathode electrodes 13a, 13b... through barriers 17a, 17b.... When the auxilliary electrodes 18a, 18b..., which are not divided by the barriers 16a, 16b..., are formed discharge transition is performed by said auxilliary electrodes and so effective bar display driving control is surely executed. Further a phosphor layer, which is excited by positive discharge between one cathode electrode and one anode, is specified to be the phosphor layer adjacent to said cathode, thus a crosstalk phenomenon is surely checked to perform the bar display with excellent resolution. |
