PURPOSE:To improve starting performance of an engine, in the engine equipped with a supercharger in an auxiliary intake system, by maintaining an auxiliary intake valve for supercharge operation to a closed state when the engine is started. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a main intake system 2, equipped with a main intake valve 9, an auxiliary intake system 5, equipped with an auxiliary intake valve 15 closed in the delay of a preset value from the main intake valve 9, is provided, and a supercharger 19 is provided in the auxiliary intake system 5. Here a detector switch 29 in a controller 28 detects starting time, at this starting time, a solenoid valve 30 opens an oil hydraulic passage 25 to maintain the auxiliary intake valve 15 to a closed state. In this way, an initial effect of supercharge can be fully displayed by the main intake system 2 and the auxiliary intake system 5, while starting performance of an engine can be improved. |
