PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a coupling agent for glass fibers, etc., having high resistance to hydrocarbons, by reacting an organohydrogensilane with acrylonitrile in the presence of a specific mixed catalyst and compound. CONSTITUTION:(A) An organohydrogensilane of the formula R<1>HmSiX3-m[R<1> is (substituted)monovalent hydrocarbon; X is halogen; m is 1-3] is reacted with (B) (substituted)acrylonitrile of formula I (R<2> is H or lower alkyl) in the presence of (C) a tetramethylethylene diamine-cuprous chloride-trealkylamine mixed catalyst system and (D) a compound having a skeleton of formula II-V [R<3> is H, alkyl or alkoxy; R<4> is methylene, phenylene or the formula >CH (CH2X)nCH3 (n is 0 or 1)] in the molecule to provide the aimed compound. |
