PURPOSE:To improve the maintainability of a machine by providing a fixing part and a photosensitive drum part with different controlling methods of jam processing. CONSTITUTION:A jam detecting mechanism 7 optically detects transfer paper being wound around a photosensitive drum 5, and a jam detecting mechanism 8 detects a paper jam at a fixing roller 6 through a microswitch. If a jam is detected on the photosensitive drum, drive is stopped immediately to prevent the surface of the drum 5 from damaging and if a jam occurs at the fixing roller part, a roller pressure releasing mechanism provided with a cam 11 is put in operation to stop a driving mechanism after the paper is drawn out a little bit, thus facilitating the removal of the paper. |
