PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization of a sorter as a whole, by providing a means for recognizing the attribute of data with presorting and at the same time setting in steps the storing capacity of each stacker from the large value to the small value. CONSTITUTION:The whole of data group to be sorted is read previously with operations carried out among a hopper 1, a recognizing part 2 and an intermediate stacker 6 and then stored in a memory 5'' via a control part 5'. Then the number of media that have the data existing in the sections divided on the basis of the sorting attribute is grasped and sorted and stored in each pocket 1 of a stacker 4' via a selecting means 3 and in order of the distribution number of the media. At the same time, the sections which are divided in terms of the contents of division of each pocket and on the basis of the attribute to be stored are displayed. Each pokect of the stacker 4' is formed with distribution so that its storing capacity is reduced in steps. As a result, an operator can store the media in a section having a large number of distributions into a pocket of small capacity successively from a pocket of large capacity. |
