PURPOSE:To prevent change of pressure in the cell of a solution-sealed-in type ECD and to enhance heat resistance, by providing a gas chamber in the inside of the cell, which allows the air to flow into and out of it. CONSTITUTION:A display electrode 3 made of WO3 vapor-deposited film provided on a transparent conductive film 2 laminated on a front glass substrate 1 and a rear side glass 7 constitute an ECD cell, where an opposite electrode 5 made of graphite or the like and a white light reflection plate 4 made of an aluminum plate are installed, and a liquid electrolyte 8 of a soln. of propylene carbonate dissolving LiClO4 is sealed in. A gas chamber 14 constituted with elastic sheets 10 of metallic films coated with polyethylene or polypropylene or the like is installed in the inside of the cell. This gas chamber is connected to the outside through a glass tube 11 joining an air passing hole 12 provided through the substrate 7 of the cell and the chamber 14 with a sealing agent to allow the air to flow into and out of the chamber, thus permitting change of pressure in the cell to be avoided, and heat resistance to be enhanced. |
