<p>N-Tetra(or penta)methylene-s-benzyl-thiocarbamates, herbicides Cpds of formula: (where X = halogen; m = 2 or 3; n = 1 or 2), are herbicides, esp. for control of millet in rice paddies, and are prepd. by (a) reacting the corresp. benzyl mercaptan (salt) with pyrrolidine- or piperidine-carbonyl chloride opt. in the presence of solvent and/or acid binder; or (b) reacting the corresp. benzyl chlorothiolformate with pyrrolidine or piperidine, opt. in the presence of solvent and/or acid binder.</p> |
