<p>This invention relates to a process for preparing new benzo-thiopyrano /2,3-c/ pyridines of formula: (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-5 alkyl radical; R2 represents a hydrogen or halogen, e.g. chlorine atom or a methyl radical, and R3, R4 and R5, which may be the same or different, each represent a hydrogen or halogen, e.g. chlorine atom, a C1-5 alkyl radical, a C1-3 alkoxy radical, an amino radical or a C1-3 alkyl- or di(C1-3 alkyl) amino radical; an acid addition salts thereof. The compounds of general formula I and their acid addition salts possess interesting pharmacological properties and in particular antidepressant and neutroleptic activities. In addition these compounds have the advantage of being largely devoid of side effects.</p> |
