PURPOSE:To prevent the diffusion of coloring matters or silver between each filter with good efficiency, by forming color separating filters in separation with each other in recess parts provided on a passivation film, in a solid state color image pickup device whereon color separating filters are directly formed on the solid state image pickup elements having the passivation film. CONSTITUTION:A passivation film (Si3N4 film) 24 is formed on an oxide film 14 containing an Al film 16..., a blue filter 211, green filter 212 and red filter 213 are respectively formed in recess parts 25 formed thereon and a protecting film 22, a black filter 214 and a protecting film 22' are formed on an Si3N4 film 24 containing these filters 211-213. Since each filter 211-213 is settled closer to the photosensitive part, the solid state color image pickup device in such a structure can prevent color mixing, etc. due to the light obliquely incident into the elements. |
