PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption at the time of actual operation of the titled air conditioner and to improve the comfortableness of the use thereof by a method wherein the time to vary a set value of temperature is fixed and the rate of operation of the air conditioner is adjusted by the relationship between the radiation of heat from the wall surface or the ceiling of the room at the time of initial operation and the effective temperature. CONSTITUTION:The control device 7 for the air conditioner is provided with a data memory 13 adopted to count the integrated time for controlling the operations of a compressor and an indoor fan, a room temperature detector 10 and a controller 14 for controlling the whole of the air conditioner in a predetermined sequence on the base of information from the data memory 13. Then the time of stopping the compressor and the indoor fan is determined at a certain value and the rate of operation of the ON-OFF cycle at the initial stage of operations of the compressor and the indoor fan is reduced to below 50%. Further, in case where the compressor and the indoor fan are re-operated after the room temperature rises higher than a predetermined value, the rate of operation thereof is increased by extending the operation time by a predetermined time while, on the other hand, when the compressor and the indoor fan are stopped in a condition in which the room temperature is lower than the predetermined value, the rate of operation is reduced. |
