An end fitting for a hose having a multi-layer structure is described, which comprises a multiplicity of separate layers which are wound around a wire supporting layer, which is wound in a helical shape, at least one of the layers consisting of a polymer film material and the end fitting having a collar section which fits into the hole of the hose. Devices are provided for anchoring the hose to the end fitting and for plastic deformation of at least one layer of the polymer material with respect to the collar section. These devices comprise radial clamping devices which surround that section of the hose which surrounds the collar section of the end fitting and clamp the hose against suitable structures on the collar section. A preferably elastic material is provided between the radial clamping devices and the hose in order to apply an elastic load.
