<p>PURPOSE:To heat under heating a coillike metallic strip (plate) with good productivity by moving heating zones in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the strip while heating said strip uniformly in both directions between pairs of transverse magnetic flux inductors thereby passing the strip through specific temp. regions at specific temp. gradients. CONSTITUTION:A coillike metallic strip 2 is disposed between transverse magnetic flux inductors 1a and 1b which are constituted by winding coils 3 on central legs. Here, respective sets of the inductors 1a, b are preferably disposed at proper intervals. The inductors 1a, 1b and the strip 2 are moved relatively. More specifically, the strip is heated uniformly in a circumferential direction by moving the inductors 1a, b in an arrow A direction to generate temp. gradients between the heated and unheated parts, thereby creating conditions for recrystallization. In conformity with the growth of the secondarily recrystalized crystals the inductors 1a, 1b are moved in an arrow B direction so that the strip 2 is subjected to an intended heat treatment over the entire width. The rate of heating in this case is adjustable mainly by the range of the heating temps. and the temp. gradient mainly by the heating range.</p> |
