PURPOSE:To provide a paper sheet storing apparatus where a temporarily stored paper sheet and a finally stored paper sheet are divided into the upper and lowe portions by a separator, which can easily let the temporarily stored paper sheet fall off downward by providing a separator comprising a few flexible plate members, only eacy basic end thereof being coupled to one another. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet, which is clamped between a pair of flat belts (not shown) to be put in a storing box 13 from the upper portion thereof, is placed on a separator 29 gradually moving down with an increase in the quantity of paper sheets to be carried in (temporary storing). After that, when the separator 29 is raised together with a slide block 11 to let a paper sheet 3 fall off the separator 29, the paper sheet is placed on a paper receiver 5 (final storing). In this case, the separator 29 comprises three flexible plates 25-27 which are overlapped by stages in such a manner that the lower the leading end thereof is positioned, the longer is the overlapping length with a paper sheet, each other end thereof being coupled by holders 18, 19. Thus, the lower the plate is positioned, the more easily the plate is deformed, so as to achieve the expected purpose. |
