A granular diet food is composed of casein contg. 0.4-2% carob gum processed to granules with a particle size of 0.5-5 mm, and coated with a vitamin-contg. mixt. Thus, 96 kg casein and 1.68 kg carob gum were mixed with water at 20≦̸C and granulated in 2 stages, dried 90 min at 70≦̸C, passed through a screen with 49 mesh/cm2 to obtain 120kg of a pale-yellow granular mass. The granules were moistened with 4lcoating syrup in a coating kettle, and just before they become sticky, ˜1 kg sugar was added and the mixt. was blown dry. Approximately 5l of a vitamin-contg. coating syrup was added in 5 charges.
