An absorber for operating a water/water heat pump with a central column consisting of a steel pipe is to be produced, on which in each case eight pipes are mounted as support arms in a star shape, the absorber surface consisting of soft plastic pipes which are wound up in a snail-like shape around the central axis to form discs and rest on the support arms. A more rapid assembly and more simple transport of the individual parts is to be achieved. To achieve this aim, it is proposed that in each case four support arms (2) are surrounded by and fatsened to half-rings (1) which can be pushed together. <IMAGE>
