A rotary support for carrying alternative mould tools which must be shifted vertically to move the tool between closed up and dilated and/or open cavity positions is mounted on a carriage riding vertical columns with (hydraulic) locking pins to lock the carriage position at various specific alternative heights. The mould tools are supported on the outer faces of sliding wedges mounted on each face of the rotary support, so that axial shifting of the wedges can adjust the vertical level of the mould tool relative to any one of the heights at which the carriage can be locked. Jsed esp. for complementary moulds and/or mould base levels for making shoes or shoe soles. The mechanical level locking and adjustment system is easily made strong enough to oppose the mould reaction to injection pressures etc. The movements of the turntable carriage (6) can be effected by a long stroke piston which can be of low power and correspondingly compact since it does not have to contain the moulding backpressure. Mechanical adjustment ensures reproducible cavity depth conditions, alternative lateral injection gate alignment etc.
