Three-position clip for prevention of disconnection of power cables - fits over cable insulation at point where cables enter junction box and has clips with identifiers

The cable device is intended for the connection of power leads to a junction box. Cables, from an entry harness, may be of different lengths according to the position of the terminal block from the entry point. The device is designed to prevent inadvertent misconnection of a cable. A three-position cable clip fits externally over the outer insulation of the cables at their point of entry into the terminal block. The clip is made of a flexible insulating plastic and has the form of a concertina strip between the cable positions which allows movement of the strip for different cable spacings. The backs of the cable clips carry cable identifying numbers to make doubly sure that the cables are not confused. The clip can be left on the cables when they are disconnected and removed to a different terminal block for example. A particular application is envisaged in which the three cables connect the three supply phases of a mains power supply.
