TILTED PANEL LINEAR ECHELON SOLAR COLLECTOR

The solar heating system uses a reflector with a stepped surface, so that each sloping face(21) reflects the sun beams onto a focal point(23). The series of steps follows a plane(20) which is at an angle to the horizontal plane(X'). This ensures that the other face of each strip does nto cast a shadow, hence increasing the efficiency of the reflector. The angle(α) between the sloping face(21) of the step and the basic plane(20) of the steps can be small or almost zero. One design of reflector forms an integral unit with stepped reflective faces sloping inwards towards a receiving portion above & between them.
