1322200 Portable containers; packages; venting containers; container closures COMPAGNIE GERVAIS-DANONE 30 Dec 1970 [9 March 1970] 61869/70 Headings B8C B8D B8T and B8X A container for cream desserts or jellies comprises a transparent polystyrene pot 1, a thermoformed polyvinyl chloride plate 2 releasably retained on the rim 10 of the pot and extending into resilient engagement with a separate or integral pot collar 11, and an integral tear tab 6 in or adjacent the pot base 5 for forming an air inlet to facilitate discharge of the container contents on to the plate on inversion of the pot. The tab is housed in a base recess 7, and weakening grooves 8 and 9 are provided at the base of the tab. A plate recess 19 wedges the contents in place, provides a volume 21 for absorbing filling variations, and is adapted to receive the base portion 18 of a like container stacked thereon with a loose- or force-fit. Three circumferential lugs 16 permit nesting of the plates without jamming. Three ridges 17 on the pot support the collar when separate and facilitate nesting of the pots prior to filling. The pot side wall may be corrugated or fluted. A spoon may be housed in the space defined between the collar, plate, and pot side wall. |
