PURPOSE:To obtain the matrix which is stable against phosphoric acid at high temperature and possesses a large phosphoric-acid holding power, by adding phosphoric acid to the mixture composed of silicon carbide and metal salt solution of metal oxide or metallic single substance. CONSTITUTION:As phosphate generally acts as binder, said phosphate is able to combine with silicon carbide, when mixed with the substance having a superior phosphoric-acid-proofness such as silicon carbide, and thus the strong matrix which is composed of the nucleus made of silicon carbide and combined by use of phosphate can be constituted. As metal oxide, zircoinium oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, silicon oxide, and aluminium oxide are preferable. As metal salt, at least one of halogenide, hydroxide, oxychloride, nitrate etc. is preferable, being selected from the group consisting of zirconium, titanium, tin, silicon, and aluminium. Further, the single metal of Zr, Ti, Sn, Si etc. can be also used. |
