PURPOSE:To emit light at a low voltage with filament temperature lowered, despite a small and simple type in structure, by sealing up a noble gas like mercury and argon, while setting up a filament, which is coated with electron radiation substances on its relatively tenuous surface, to lead wires and applying phosphor matter on the inside of a bulb. CONSTITUTION:A filament 5 coated with electron radiation substances (an oxide comprising barium, strontium, calcium, and so on) is tensely connected between the tips of lead wires 4a and 4b in a bulb 1 which is coated inside with phosphor substance including calcium halophosphate, etc. When a voltage is impressed on both terminals via the lead wires 4a and 4b, they are incandesced at a temperature of about 700 deg.C so that thermionic emission to the anode side takes place. |
