PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in picture quality such as flicker, by inverting the phase of a chroma signal such as sampled composite color television signal at each horizontal scanning period, and transmitting the signal. CONSTITUTION:A composite color television signal modulated in a chrominance subcarrier wave (f) and multiplexed to a luminance signal is applied to a terminal 20. A chroma signal is separated at a 1H delay circuit 21 and a comb type filter and is given to a switch 28. The switch 28 switches signals at terminals 26 and 27 at each horizontal scanning line for pickup. A sampling circuit 30 performs sampling in a lower frequency than 2f for band compression. The chroma signal is separated at the reception side and an input color signal is alternately picked up at each 1H for output in synchronizing with the chroma signal. As a result, signals where the phase of the chrominance subcarrier wave is equal for the horizontal scanning lines, can be obtained. This signal is selected at each 1H and a normal color signal can be picked up. |
