PURPOSE:To obtain a lithographic printing plate having a high staining proofness and excellent printing resistivity by a method in which a precoat composed of a high molecular substance with specific groups, e.g., hydroxyl groups, etc., is provided on a supporter, and an ink-repellent layer composed of a specific chromium complex is further provided on the precoat. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution or dispersion of a high molecular substance with one or more of -OH, -NH2, -COOH, -CONH2, and -SO3H (e.g., partially saponified polyvinyl acetate, PVA, gelatin, etc.) is coated on a supporter, e.g., paper, plastic film, etc., and dried to form a precoat. Then, a lower alcohol solution of a chromium complex of the formula (where R is a C14-C18 alkyl and R' is H or a C1-C4 alkyl) is coated on the precoat and then dried to form an ink repellent layer in order to obtain an objective printing plate. |
