A tyre valve core has a metal or plastics body part 22 snap-fitted to a plastics cup-shaped spring retainer 34 by the interengagement of a circumferential rib 22a with a circumferential groove 34a. A resilient closure member 42 is bonded to a pin 38 and is biased by a spring 44 into engagement with a seat formed at the lower end of body part 22. An inclined surface 46 on the retainer 34 preferably having a sawtoothed profile sealingly engages with a shoulder on a valve stem when the core is screwed therein.</p> |
