1340754 Fluorine-containing ether copolymers E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970] 24579/71 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] The invention comprises copolymers of perfluoro-(3-phenoxypropylvinyl ether) of the formula with at least one other fluorine-containing ethylenically unsaturated comonomer. The copolymers preferably contain from 0À2 to 3À0 mole per cent of the compound of Formula I and the other comonomer is preferably vinylidene fluoride, trifluoroethylene, chlorotrifluoroethylene, 1,2,3,3,3-pentrafluoro-1-propene, a perfluoroalkyl perfluorovinyl ether having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene or a perfluoroalkyl perfluorovinyl ether having 3 to 8 carbon atoms. The copolymers may be cross-linked preferably with an amine based curing agent or a polynucleophile. The copolymers are prepared by copolymerizing compound I with at least one fluorinecontaining ethylenic comonomer, the process preferably being carried out using a free radical initiator, a reduction activator or a perfluoro carbon surfactant. |
