A device for positioning at least one adjustment device, in particular for motor vehicle seats, is proposed which can be moved into a predeterminable set position by means of a control circuit. This control circuit is fed an electrical auxiliary variable for reducing the control deviation so as to achieve switching-off of the adjustment device, preferably constructed as an actuator motor (21, 22), before the set position is reached. By means of the overtravel of the adjustment device (21, 22) as a result of the inertia mass, the desired set position is then reached exactly and hunting is avoided. In this process, this electrical auxiliary variable is preferably dependent on the adjustment speed of the adjustment device. <IMAGE>
