PURPOSE:To make it usable as good as an incandescent lamp despite a small and simple type in structure and secure longer service life than the incandescent lamp, besides less power consumption, by setting up a heater and an anode at short intervals in opposition to a bulb sealed up with mercury and a noble gas, while coating phosphor substances on the inside of the bulb. CONSTITUTION:A heater 5 composed of a filament, which is coated with electron radiation substances (an oxide comprising barium, strontium, calcium, and so on) is strainedly connected to the tips of lead wires 4a and 4b in a bulb 1 which seals up mercury and a noble gas and being coated with phosphor substances including calicium halophosphate. Also this heater 5 is oppositely attached to an anode 7. The lead wire 4a is connected to a base pin 9a via a ballast 8 and the lead wire 4b to a base pin 9b in the same manner while a lead wire 6 is connected to a base pin 9c via a ballast 10, respectively. When a current is made to flow with a switch 12 turned on, the heater 5 is incandesced so that thermionic emission to an anode 7 takes place. |
