For combined games to be played with striking implements and special low-bounce balls, use is to be made not only of commercially available striking implements but also of lightweight balls made from foamed plastics or sponge rubber which, because of cores which are fitted within them and are made to be heavier than the enclosing outer layer, can still be well controlled in their flight and yet are so light that even the hardest shots can do no damage to sensitive parts. The size of the core fitted in the inside of the ball is, in this arrangement, to be up to a maximum of approximately half the diameter of the ball and its weight is to be one-fifth to three times, preferably one-half to one and a half times, heavier than a foam ball of identical size without core. The new sport of "light-ball" tennis thus played is played with lightweight tennis balls which measure 60 to 90 mm in diameter and weight about 40 g. For the identical "light-ball golf", by contrast, light-weight golf balls are used with a diameter of only 40 to 60 mm and a weight of about 40 g. Both new types of sport can be played anywhere, both in the open air and in enclosed spaces, with the commercial rackets/clubs available for tennis and golf.
