The invention relates to a three-point seatbelt with automatic retraction device. In a deviation from the entire prior art, the catch (11) of the seatbelt (1) is contained in the belt guide (2) which is usually provided on the side pillar of the motor vehicle. In preferred embodiments, the catch (11) consists of a simple preform (12, 18) which, in the event of sudden tensile stressing of the chest belt section (10) of the seatbelt, clamps the belt (8) tightly against one of the webs (6 or 7) of the belt guide (2). For this purpose, the preform (12, 18) preferably has guide faces (15) which engage, in a manner which reinforces the clamping pressure on the belt (8), with the respective other one of the webs (6 or 7) of the belt guide (2). <IMAGE>
