PURPOSE:To protect a side stair from damage and prevent the deterioration of moving performance of a vehicle, by controlling a driving mechanism for the stair to place the stair in a high position throughout the movement of the vehicle and displace the stair to a low position during the stoppage of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Brackets 11, 13 are secured under a floor plate 3. A side stair 33 is rotatably attached with arms 21, 23 to the bracket 11 so that a parallel linkage 17 is composed of the bracket, the arms and the stair. An actuator 19 is secured on the bracket 13. The shaft 37 of the actuator 19 is connected to the slender hole 39 of the stair 33. The driving of the actuator 19 is regulated by a control switch 45 to place the stair 33 in a high retracted position throughout the movement of a vehicle and displace the stair to a low stepping position during the stoppage of the vehicle. A door switch or a parking brake switch is used as the control switch 45. |
