The control device for keeping constant the product of delivery rate and delivery pressure has a single-arm lever (46) on which, with respect to its fulcrum (47), there is applied, via a control valve (31), a moment which depends on the delivery pressure; counter to said moment a countermoment formed by a tension spring (56) is applied. The lever (46) is linked to a follower rod (27) which at all times bears on the servo-piston (21) for the cam ring (16) determining the travel of the pistons. If the abovementioned product is not in equilibrium, the control valve (31) is adjusted by the lever (46) in such a way that, as a result of appropriate setting of the servo-piston (21) and thus of the cam ring (16), the original equilibrium is reestablished. An exact product of delivery pressure and delivery rate is thus achieved at all times, which results, in an appropriate coordinate system, in a precisely hyperbolic course. The control device is of very compact and simple design and thus little prone to faults. <IMAGE>
