In order for a roof wind deflector, which is to be detachably fixed on a motor-vehicle roof and is intended for a sliding-roof opening, the lower edges of the front and side walls of which, with the interposition of a seal, rest on the motor-vehicle roof, to be given a permanently secure seating, the lower edges of the front and side walls are designed as a shoe which sits in an appropriately divided receiving slot in the seal. In order additionally to improve the seating, the outer edge of the front wall runs counter to the curvature of the motor-vehicle roof, the transition regions between a flow-off surface and the side walls are designed as flat rounded portions and the front wall, emerging from the seal, of the roof wind deflector has the same slope as, or a lesser slope than, the front edge of the seal.
