COLD ROLLING METHOD

PURPOSE:To make the decrease in the back tension of feed reels and the increase in the tension on the inlet side of rolling mills possible in a line on the inlet side of cold rolling by adding the tension required for preventing the snaking of a strip upon the strip and performing accurate centering. CONSTITUTION:In a line 1 on the inlet side of cold rolling between a feed reel 11 of a strip S and the 1st stand 161 of continuous cold rolling mills, a free looper 13 is provided in the line 1 to interrupt the tension of the strip S to be formed between the reel 11 and the 1st stand 161. A side guide 14 consisting of a horizontal roll and a vertical roll is provided on the outlet side of the free looper 13 to perform the centering for the strip S, and tension bridle rolls 15 are provided to apply tension upon the strip S on the inlet side of the 1st stand 16.
