PURPOSE:To make a head compact, by constituting parts of an optical type position detector as a unitary body with electromagnets. CONSTITUTION:A head is constituted by a movable element which encloses an optical system and a magnetic bearing which supports said movable parts. The parts 301 or 401-404 of an optical position detector as constituent elements of said magnetic bearing constitute the unitary body with the electromagnets 310 and 311. As a result, the position detecting location coincides with the location where the forces of the electromagnetic are acted, and the extra space can be saved. |
