[Also in Divisions B2, B7 and B8] A container comprises a reticulated foam mass 4 (such as a foamed polyurethane) of the shape desired for the container, the surface of which is sealed by a coat 5 covered in turn by various coats so as to give the container the desired characteristics. Access fittings 12 of cast polyurethane may be bonded to the mass 4 prior to coating it. If the container is an aircraft or vehicle fuel cell, one of the coats may be of natural rubber compounded with a small amount of curative to produce a self-sealing tank.</p> |
