Complexes of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which M denotes tin, titanium, zirconium or hafnium, R<1> denotes hydrogen or a phenyl radical, where the phenyl radical can be substituted once or more than once by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, nitro, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or trifluoromethyl, R<2> denotes methyl or R<1> with the exception of hydrogen, R<3> denotes hydrogen or chlorine, and X denotes the number 1 or 0, exhibit a cytostatic activity which is comparable to that of cisplatin but are much less poisonous than this compound. They are suitable for use in the preparation of medicaments having antineoplastic activity.
