In order to achieve higher efficiency in a screening machine having a screen box with a plurality of screen-fabric surfaces which are arranged one above the other and at an inclination and which can be excited directly by means of jolters arranged under them, the jolters being mounted on rocker levers which are arranged under the screen-fabric surfaces and which project from shafts oscillating to and fro, which are mounted fixedly relative to the frame and which are directed transversely to the conveying direction of the screening material, it is proposed that there be arranged under the upper screen-fabric surfaces (4), behind the jolters (10) in the conveying direction of the screening material, screening-material guide-back chutes (12) reaching into the conveying-material streams (13), intensified by the jolters (10), of the screening material conveyed through the screen-fabric surface (4). <IMAGE>
