Processes for producing energy from charcoal should be feasible in a simple and economical manner, a gas of high calorific value being generated which is free of impurities and burns at a high flame temperature. In this case, this is achieved by comminuting the charcoal directly after its production in the kiln and packaging it without losses in containers sealed air- and water-tight and causing it to burn or to be gasified together with the containers.
