The housing of a valve body of a valve for artificial respiration of people has three nozzles opening into a joint chamber, two of which lie flush opposite each other and each carries a valve seat for the disc-shaped valve body located in the chamber. The valve body comprises an annular disc, the opening of which is covered by a thin-walled, corrugated membrane to ensure reliable functioning of the valve even at very low pressure differences and at temperature below the freezing point. A handle which engages into a hub arranged in the inlet nozzle for fixing of the valve body is held in the centre of the membrane.
