<p>PURPOSE:To attain small sized device and long time recording, by eliminating the need for a control signal recording head and an exclusive use track, through the recording of a control signal on a video signal track with superimposition of a video signal. CONSTITUTION:In an example of application to a component system, a video signal at a terminal 2 is separated at a YC (where; Y is a luminance signal and C is a chroma signal) separation circuit 8. The Y signal is applied to a head 7 via an FM modulator 4. The C signal is also applied to a head 8 via an FM modulator 5 and a mixing circuit 6. The Y and C signals are respectively recorded on tracks AY and AC. A pulse signal becomes a control (CTL) signal at a shaping circuit 10, superimposed at the mixing circuit 6 and recorded on the track AC with superimposition. Even if the CTL is superimposed, the DC component of a carrier of the C signal only changes and the C signal is not deteriorated. Since the CTL signal is recorded within the vertical blanking period, the adverse effect due to the superimposition can completely be eliminated.</p> |
