Ceramic tile compound is pressmoulded between a lower mould (5) and an upper mould (7) to form green tile mouldings. In order to achieve complete detachment of the tile compound from the moulds, compressed air is blown directly between the inner surface of the moulds and the tile compound during the removal of the upper mould (7) or the lower mould (5). In the upper mould (7) this is carried out by means of a plug valve (11), which closes or opens an air inlet (8).
