PURPOSE:To provide increased coloring density, shortened responding time and enhanced moisture resistance, to make a film thin for enhancing the flexibility and to enhance the work efficiency by using a solid electrolyte layer prepared by dispersing an ionic conductive lithium material in a high molecular resin. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 2 and a thin film 3 of transition metallic oxide are formed on a transparent substrate 1, and a solid electrolyte layer 4 is interposed between the resulting display substrate and a counter electrode substrate to manufacture an entirely solid ECD device. At this time, the layer 4 is prepared by dispersing an ionic conductive lithium material such as LixWO3, LiCoO2, LixTiS2, LiX, LiClO4 or Li3N in a synthetic high molecular resin such as melamine resin, epoxy resin, silicone resin or polyurethane resin. The lithium material and the resin are uniformly kneaded with a solvent, dispersed, applied to the EC layer, and dried to form the solid electrolyte layer. |
