Coating contains cement; a thermoplastic binder; and a filler consisting of inorganic microspheres. The pref. coating contains by wt. 35-70% cement, 2-20% thermoplastic binder, 20-45% microspheres, and 0-5% plasticiser. The coating is pref. applied to a thermally insulating sheet of a foamed thermoplastic material, and is also used to bond the sheet to a building. The coating is pref. reinforced by fibres, and esp. by a glass fibre strip. The coating is pref. covered on its external surface with a final coating of paint or a material contg. few or no inorganic microspheres. Coating has a low density, but high strength and high thermal insulation. |
