Improved lavatory cleansing blocks of the "naked" type and a process for preparing such blocks are disclosed. The lavatory cleansing blocks comprise as a solid carrier base a mixture comprising a major proportion of a nonionic surface-active compound and a minor proportion of a partially esterified copolymer of vinylmethyl ether and maleic anhydride (PVM/MA). The lavatory cleansing blocks, which have improved solubility characteristics, a satisfactory gelling/swelling property for good sticking to the bottom of the cistern and a specific gravity of amply above 1, are used for immersion in the water of the cistern of lavatory bowls or urinals. |
