<p>PURPOSE:To correct skewness with high accuracy, by sampling a position of plural parts on 2 adjacent sides of a medium respectively, and correcting pattern cut positions in accordance with a skew quantity calculated from its sampling value. CONSTITUTION:A pre-processing part 2 cuts a character pattern of a position designated by format information from pattern information inputted from a photoelectric converting part 1, sends it to a recognizing part 3 to recognizes a character, encodes and sends out to the outside. Also, a sampling part 4 samples a position of plural parts of 2 adjacent sides of a medium from pattern information of a pattern memory of the inside of the photoelectric converting part 1, and sends an obtained sampling value to the pre-processing part 2. Subsequently, in the pre-processing part 2, in accordance with the sampling values of the upper end and the left end inputted, a skew quantity of the medium is calculated in accordance with its result to correct a cut position of a character.</p> |
