PURPOSE:To sinter powder moldings with high working efficiency and productivity by loading a heating furnace wherein powder moldings are kept buried in the molten glass in crucibles into a high pressure vessel while maintaining the furnace at high temp., and heating the furnace in the pressure of a pressure medium gas. CONSTITUTION:After moldings of ceramic powder, metallic powder, etc. are buried in the glass powder or granules 17 packed in crucibles 16, the crucibles 2 are loaded into a movable heating furnace which is provided with heating elements 2 and consisting of a heat insulating structural body. Said heating furnace is loaded into an atmosphere chamber 14, and after the inside of the chamber 14 is regulated to a prescribed atmosphere by an inert gas or the like, the crucibles 16 are heated 2 to soften and melt the glass powder and granulues 17. In succession, while the heating furnace is maintained at high temp., the furnace is removed from the chamber 14 and is quickly loaded into a high pressure chamber 20. A pressure medium gas such as N2 is forced into the chamber 20, and the inside of the heating furnace is heated by the elements 2, then the moldings in the crucibles 6 are subjected to a hot hydrostatic pressing (HIP) treatment, whereby the moldings are sintered. The cycle time of the HIP treatment is reduced consisderably and working efficiency and productivity are improved. |
