PURPOSE:To suppress the circumferential and axial play of a double two-pot universal joint in which the ends of two shafts are fitted so that they are coupled to each other by joint members including trunnions, by providing pins extending in directions perpendicularly intersecting the trunnions. CONSTITUTION:The end of one 14 of two shafts to be coupled to each other is provided with a spherical part 16 and the end of the other 15 is provided with a cylindrical hole 17 so that the spherical part is fitted in the hole. Trunnions 18 are radially protruded in symmetric positions on the shafts 14, 15 near their ends. Rollers 19 are rotatably fitted on the tips of the trunnions 18 and located inside the tracks 20 of an outer cylindrical member 13. Center holes 21, the central parts of which are constricted, are provided in the shafts 14, 15 so that the holes extend in directions perpendicularly intersecting the trunnions 18. Pins 22 are placed through the center holes 21. The ends of the pins 22 are calked so that they are attached to the outer cylindrical member 13. These joint members are covered with expansible and contractible boots 23 and sealed up by bands 24. |
