A marine outdrive unit is provided which includes an exhaust system in which there is proper cooling of the exhaust gases and in which an easy connection to the prime mover can be made. Additionally, because of positioning and streamlining of the exhaust arrangement, it eliminates possible turbulence from the exhaust stream when the boat on which the outdrive unit is mounted is proceeding forwardly in high-speed operation.
