PURPOSE:To provide a dentrifrice composition effective for the prevention of oral odor and periodontosis, by using extract of Amur cork, clove, blue gum, mace, celery and/or parsley in combination with sodium alkylsulfate. CONSTITUTION:A dentrifrice composition is obtained by adding (A) the extract of a plant selected from Amur cork, clove, blue gum, mace, celery and parsley and (B) preferably 8-18C alkylsulfuric acid sodium salt, e.g. sodium caprylsulfate, especially sodium laurylsulfate, to a dentrifrice composition such as toothpaste, moistened tooth powder, tooth powder, liquid dentrifrice, etc. The amounts of the components (A) and (B) are preferably 0.0005-5wt%, especially 0.002- 2wt%, and preferably 0.1-5wt%, especially 0.5-3wt% of the whole composition, respectively. The above components exhibit excellent synergistic antibacterial effect even at a small amount against Fusobacterium nucleatum which is a pathogenic bacterium of oral odor and periodontosis, and gives the objective dentrifrice composition having high safety. |
