<p>PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity and to improve the efficacy of a steering wheel by connecting a ball nut to a center link. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 2 is rotated to the right, a worm 8 is rotated to the left and a ball nut 9 is moved to the right, thereby a center link 10 is moved to the right and the front ends of both wheels 12 are turned on the right. Likewise, when the steering wheel 2 is rotated to the left, both wheels 12 are turned to the left. The movement of the ball nut 9 to the right or left direction caused by the rotation of the worm 8 is directly transmitted to the center link 10, therefore, no turning lag of both wheels 12 or no difference between the steering angle ratio and its set value occurs. In addition, a kickback shimmy is prevented from occurring because a combination of the worm 8 and the ball nut 9 is used.</p> |
